Since launching last summer, Aveda Nutriplenish™  has hit the ground running. With its customised range of shampoo and conditioners for every hair type and texture imaginable, the Nutriplenish™  range is the perfect solution for hair hydration. With a fresh, spicy aroma including florals with spicy ginger and warm cocoa, it’s fast becoming an Aveda best seller. And the good news is now they’ve expanded the range to include a NEW Nutriplenish leave in conditioner that offers all day moisture for dry hair.

Guildford Hairdresser

As well as utilising the most hydrating and moisturising natural ingredients, probably the most notable thing about Aveda Nutriplenish™  shampoo & conditioner is the choice of formula they offer. As you know, hair comes in so many different and glorious forms and each has different needs. With Nutriplenish, you hydrate hair with the light formula or the deep formula, both helping to solve the needs of dry hair, whatever the type.

What Different Types of Hair Are There?

Hair is defined in two ways; its texture and its type.

Hair texture is basically how straight or curly your hair is. That’s determined by the shape of the hair follicle (You can learn more about why hair is curly in our Curly Hair Blog).

Hair type is how fine or thick each strand is. That’s determined by the size of the hair follicle. (You can learn more about the difference between thin and fine hair in our blog about How to Get Thicker Fuller Hair.

Of course, you don’t just have ‘thick’ hair or ‘fine’ hair – and you don’t just have ‘straight hair’ or ‘curly hair’. There are many gradients in between these two variants.

Your personal combination of these two factors determine what hair hydration products are best for you, just like the best styling products or brush.

What Should I Use If I have Fine Hair?

Light Nutriplenish

For hair that’s fine, you need a lighter formula that won’t weigh the hair down. For that reason the Aveda nutiplenish light moisture shampoo and Aveda Nutriplenish™  light moisture conditioner both contain oils that will absorb more quickly.

You could also choose light moisture if you prefer to wash your hair daily for freshness but want a lighter formula.

What About if My Hair is Thicker and Curly?

Deep Nutriplenish

Thicker tightly coiled, curly and very wavy hair need a much more rich formula, that will penetrate and nourish hair strands more deeply. For these hair types, Aveda deep shampoo and Aveda Nutriplenish™ deep conditioner are perfect as they contain 50% more butters.

If you want that really deep moisture boost and love a rich thick formula, then choose Nutriplenish™ deep.

The truth is, both of the Aveda Nutriplenish™ set of products will benefit any hair type or texture. All you really have to do is choose the best formula for you; Light or Deep moisture.

Aveda have put together this handy visual to help you decide where your hair is at.

Guests who have already enjoyed these products from the range will be excited to learn that the range has now expanded to include the new Aveda Nutriplenish™ Daily Moisturizing Treatment

What’s the Difference Between Aveda Nutriplenish™ Daily Moisturizing Treatment and the Aveda Nutriplenish™  Leave in Conditioner?

Nutriplenish™ leave-in-conditioner helps to protect all types, giving back hydration and providing heat protection. It is lightly sprayed on both wet and dry hair and should not be rinsed out.

Aveda Nutriplenish™ leave in conditioner spray gives a lighter feel and is ideally for those already using the LIGHT Nutriplenish™ range.

For those with thick and textured hair, it can just be applied a little more heavily or it can be used as a pre-shampoo treatment

The new Nutriplenish™ daily moisturizing treatment can also cater for all textures and types of dry hair. Compared to the leave in conditioner, the daily moisturizing treatment contains 8 times the superfood complex of oils and butters, making it much a much richer. That means it’s fantastic for heavier textured and thicker hair.

To use, simply work a small amount into damp hair and then blow dry or air dry. It can also be used on dry hair to reduce frizz and flyaways as well as on dry ends.

Aimed at giving hair daily hydration, the new Nutriplenish™ Daily Moisturizing Treatment offers a creamy formula designed to retain up to four times the hydration than of hair (that’s had no conditioning products added).

The premise of Aveda Nutriplenish™ daily moisturizing treatment comes from the ingredients list. Rich oil and butters ensure hair smooths over the hair shaft, making it feel smoother and softer.
