Jo is passionate about Pilates because of the positive changes it can bring to posture, physical health and mental wellbeing. She has as strong focus on the precision of movement and her classes are varied, challenging and informative but more importantly they are fun and conducted in a friendly environment. With the incorporation of anatomical cues, Jo encourages clients to broaden their awareness of posture and improve upon strength and flexibility. She offers variations on all exercises to accommodate mixed abilities and experience, so everyone can benefit and progress.
She started practicing Pilates around ten years ago in order to help with issues in her back after long days working at a desk on a computer. By improving her posture and inner strength she discovered a new love for her body and a life long interest in the effectiveness of correct movement; her aim is for her clients to gain the same benefits.
Jo is a registered teacher with the Body Control Pilates School in London, founded by Lynne Robinson, and has completed additional specialist training in pre and post-natal Pilates. She continues to focus on specialisms such as bone health, back care and improved fitness and attends regular teaching training sessions in and around London. Jo is also a qualified Nutritional Therapist with a BSc from the University of Westminster and is a registered member of the professional bodies BANT and CNHC.
